Day-Old Quail Chicks — Tiny, Hardy & Full of Character
Don't let their size fool you — quail chicks are incredibly rewarding to raise. Within just a few weeks they'll be fully feathered and, in the case of females, laying their first delicious little eggs. Our chicks are hatched on-site from healthy, well-managed stock and are available for collection shortly after hatching.
Why Keep Quail?
- Fast to mature — hens begin laying at just 6–8 weeks old
- Compact and easy to keep — ideal for small gardens or even indoors
- Prolific layers — up to 300 tiny eggs per year
- Low maintenance — quiet, clean, and inexpensive to feed
Getting Started
Quail chicks need a brooder temperature of around 35°C for the first week, reducing by 5°C each week. They are tiny and can escape through small gaps, so ensure your brooder is secure. Use quail or game bird crumb feed from day one — standard chick crumb is too low in protein for quail.
Please note: chicks are available for collection only. We do not ship live birds. Collection arrangements will be confirmed after purchase.
